Call for Experts in: Computing and Storage

COREnect (European Core Technologies for future connectivity systems and components) is a 2-year coordination and support action project with the aim to develop a high-level strategic roadmap for future connectivity systems and components for 5G and beyond. For this purpose, COREnect brings together European industry and R&D leaders from both the telecommunicationsand microelectronics sectors. The project is coordinated by the Technische Universität Dresden(TUD). COREnect organizes three expert groups (EGs) focusing on different technology areas for future networks:

•Expert Group 1: Compute & Store

•Expert Group 2: Connect & Communicate

•Expert Group 3: Sense & Power

Within EG1, headed by Gerhard Fettweis (TUD), we have so far identified a set of research areas and design considerations concerning the topic of computing & storage:

•Key performance indicators

•Instruction set architecture

•Storage architectures

•Multiprocessor system on a chip

•Operating system

•System architecture.

To flesh out our roadmapping work in these areas and to cover new areas we might have overlooked, we are looking for new experts in the area of computing and storage. Female experts and experts from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly welcome.

Your work in the EG will involve the participation and discussions in online meetings and contributions to deliverables summarizing the EG's results including the COREnect industry roadmap. If the circumstances allow, we also plan to organize face-to-face meetings in conjunction with EFECS and EuCNC - the flagship conferences of microelectronics and network communities. The participation in the EG is on a voluntary basis without any payment, apart from potential refunding of travel costs for face-to-face meetings if budget allows.

If you are interested, please send us an application with your:

1.CV.

2.Area of expertise within the scope of EG1.

3.Abstract on area of contribution and its importance for EG1 (no more than 500 words).

Please compile your application with a page break at the end of each section between addressing the 3 inputs above, and send them to info@corenect.eu. Apply until February 28.
